The Association of Administrators of English Schools of Quebec (AAESQ)’s audience for the Bill 86 Hearings is set for March 8th, 2016 between 8:15pm – 9:45pm, and to be held at the National Assembly in Quebec City in the Salle Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine.

Here Ron Canuel, one of there own is honoured.

Ron Canuel is recognized as a “Hero in Education” for his Vision and Leadership.

For over 30 years, Ron has been involved in making significant positive changes in the educational system in the Province of Quebec. Fully bilingual, Ron has participated on many provincial, national and international level committees focusing on education, technology, leadership, and change. He was a long-standing member of the Quebec Superior Council of Education, Secondary Commission, and past President of the Association of Directors General of English School Boards of Quebec.

In October 2006, the Canadian Association of School Administrators presented Ron with the National EXL Award recognizing him as an example of excellence and leadership in education. In 2003, Ron implemented Canada’s only 1:1 systemic laptop deployment for all children in Grades 3 -11. The results of this initiative is one of Canada’s biggest education secrets!

Today, Ron is the CEO of the Canadian Education Association. His focus is on transformational and innovative approaches to the public education model including using the voices of students and teachers in the change process.
